One Slip of the Hand

Multicolored glass litters the floor.
The shattered pieces scatted
From a broken window.
The spectrum--
Ranging from
The lightest yellows,
Burning golds,
Regal reds,
To the royal blues,
Heady purples,
Parading their wondrous beauty
Now flung across the floor
In a maze of shining glass.
Disorder abounds.
Horrifying to some,
Lovely to others,
The shards will never again be whole.
Chaos, exerting its will on beauty,
Recreates an artist's masterpiece.
His artwork is transformed for all time
Because of one slip of the hand.

Hula Hoops

Twirl, sprint, spin, leap, bound,
She whirls round and round and round.
Colors flashing by.

Dizzying, swirling,
She is a ballerina,
Spinning and dancing.

Giggling, shrieking
She wants them to see her dance,
But it quickly ends.

This blog is for writing and random thoughts. I love books, poetry, and short stories. I am a beginner when it comes to writing, but I love it. Hopefully, as my reader, you will too.
